The other day was one of “those” kind of days. A second Monday. Feet dragging, kids screaming, the house looking as if a tornado had taken place and everyone was in need of some serious attitude adjustments.

I got my tired muscles to cooperate and loaded everyone up in the car. We were headed into nature. Even the dog knew he needed to go or else he would go crazy!

With just a short ride, we found ourselves surrounded by tall pine trees and aspens—the sound of water in the creek.

The first thing we all did, was take a deep breath and smell the glorious scent of nature. The dirt, trees, flowers and the smell of rain on its way. And we instantly began to feel less stressed, less frustrated and less irritated. Those feelings were replaced by renewed strength ( for me anyway), excitement, wonder and fulfillment.

Bliss and Renewal

We just took our time as I let the kids just explore all their surroundings. Even the dog looked like he regained some courage to continue to accept sticky little fingers touching him or juicy kisses on his head. We were all in a state of bliss and renewal.

Nature has so much to offer. It amazes me that every time I take the time to go and be a part of it, I come back home feeling like I have gained so much. My soul feels fed.

God knew we needed nature. He created it so intricate and so divine. You can’t help but be in awe while gazing upon its beauty. My children are even amazed by its endless possibilities and vast arrays of shapes, textures, colors, and smells. If you find yourself having one of “those” kind of days, step into nature, and your soul will be fed.

“For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth into singing before you, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.(Isaiah 55:12).
