Shoot That Car

If you've ever felt frustrated by a car alarm that wouldn't stop ringing, perhaps you can empathize with the California guy who finally took matters into his own hands. From his apartment balcony, David Owen Rye, 48, fired shots at the noisy car to try and stop the alarm. When the police arrived they found bullet holes in a car owned by a 25-year-old man.

After additional officers and a Los Angeles Police Department helicopter was dispatched to the scene, Rye was arrested and booked into the Ventura County Jail where he faced possible charges for discharging a handgun in a negligent manner and vandalism.

How do you handle life's irritations? The Bible says, "A wise man is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool is arrogant and careless. A quick-tempered man acts foolishly...." (Proverbs 14:16-17)

Impatience can spoil a perfectly beautiful day. In the heat of the moment the direction of one's life can be negatively altered. Only God can tame the restless heart!

Keep Your Cool

Paul says, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-8).
