As if menopause doesn’t cause enough changes already, a recent study found yet another one: a woman’s cholesterol level may rise sharply about the time of menopause. If her cholesterol levels are already at the lower ranges of normal, this change may not be significant, but it could have an impact on women already in the risky range. Dr. Wolf Ulian, founder and executive director of the North American Menopause Society, says the findings are a good reminder that menopause is an excellent time for women to reevaluate their lifestyle and make healthy modifications.
