When struggling with clinical depression, many people feel the only solution is medication. However, research has found that talk therapy can sometimes be just as effective as medication. Talk therapy with a trained professional tends to bring more lasting recovery and fewer relapses than medication, helps people address the interpersonal problems contributing to their sadness, and does not have the side effects of medication.
