Pleasing God

We can do many things in this world if we set our mind to it. We can choose to get married, buy a house, have children and raise a family. We can, if talented enough, make a million dollars, design a rocket, change someone’s life, the list is endless. Unfortunately none of that pleases God.

I heard a man on the radio tell how he cleaned up his life when he met Jesus. He stopped drinking, smoking, and going to night clubs. He said he stopped spending money on girls, and even stopped stealing from the company he worked for. Sure I was happy for him. Of course I was impressed with the power of Jesus, but the main question was: Is God pleased with all of these? You can do all of these things and become morally good and still be as far away from pleasing God as you were before. Shocking, isn’t it?

Don’t get me wrong, we should be clean, we should be all of those things mentioned above. But if your desire is to please God then you should take a look at what the Bible says about that. Hebrews 11:6 says that we can not please God without faith.

If we can only please God with faith, then it is important to understand what the Bible means by faith. Faith is not a noun nor is it an adjective. Faith is a verb. Faith demands action. Faith is action. Every believer has been given a measure of faith.

Declare Your Faith

In order to see the promises of God come to pass in your life, you need to give your faith a voice. You must declare what God says about you in His Word. Those seeds of faith inside you are activated when you speak them out into the atmosphere. That’s why Reuben Morgan, the author of the song titled "Give Thanks" says, “Let the weak say I am strong. Let the poor say I am rich.”

The circumstances and the cares of this world can take away my house, my money, my car, even worse, my kids, my peace, my health and ultimately, my life. But one thing the enemy can’t take away is my faith.

We need an active, hyper, impulsive, contagious, radical, at-loud faith in our lives. Faith doesn’t work if you have it, faith only works if you work it. Remember, if you start doing faith in your situation, God will finish it.

If for whatever reason you feel that you’re losing the battle, speak faith onto your problem, be pro-active and diligent. I invite you to say with me: Father in heaven, I humbly come before You giving You my thoughts, my actions, and my words. Help me to activate my faith by speaking Your Word daily. May my words and thoughts be pleasing to You always. Amen.

Hebrews 11:6 - "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
