Who's in Charge?

A world leader was having trouble getting to sleep. He got out of bed, and was nervously pacing the floor. His aide had seen his light on, and knocked on the door, asking if he might be of help. The statesman responded, “It’s the problems of the world that are keeping me awake. There is nothing you can do about them.”

The aide asked, “Sir, may I ask, Who watched over the world before you came?”

“Well, I suppose God did.”

And, sir, who will watch over the world when you’re gone?”

“God will, of course.”

“Then, sir, could you let God watch over it just long enough for you to get some sleep?”

Trust Him

The Scriptures tell us that Christ, God’s Son, “By His own word…holds the universe together” (Hebrews 1:3, CEV). He’s in control. You can count on it. You can trust Him with your life. With all your plans for the future.

God says, “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for” (Jeremiah 29:11, The Message).

God has promised never to leave you alone. And His promises just don’t get any better than this one: “God cares for you, so turn all your worries over to him” 1 Peter 5:7, CEV).

Do you have problems you can’t solve? Are there burdens in your life way too heavy for you to carry alone? You can turn your life over right now to the only One Who really knows how to handle it. The Scriptures say, “God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or request in your wildest dreams” (Ephesians 3:20, The Message).

He’s just been wondering if you’d ever ask!
