My husband and I recently received the news that his new teaching job had fallen through. We tried to digest this devastating news, but remained in a state of confusion and panic for several weeks.
Days before we had received this dreadful news, we had felt God’s leading to this job. We had found a house that would suit our family of three and fit into our budget with my husband’s new job. Now with the news that we didn’t have a job waiting and only a couple of weeks to pack our stuff and move, we were feeling desperate. We had questions running through our minds of how we were suppose to live in this new house waiting for us; the rent was higher than we thought we could afford now. How would we provide the very best for our one-year-old son; how would we simply pay the bills.
We Tried to Control Everything
We tried so hard to control everything, only to realize after many attempts that we needed to give it all to God. We prayed and passed our burdens, fears and stress onto Him.
The next week, we received a check from an anonymous friend who wanted to help us out in our time of need. We were amazed, and felt very blessed.
My husband has a job; not the one he desired, but a job none the less. He also does a lot of extra work to help make ends meet so I can stay at home with our son. Somehow we have been able to move into that house, even though the rent is high and we are paying our bills on time.
God has blessed us in so many ways and has taken care of every detail and need in our lives! I know He will continue to bless us and that He has special plans for us. We wait daily for His leading. We are able to feel at peace. “The Lord gives perfect peace to those whose faith is firm” (Isaiah 26:3).
